Local Beaches
There
are dozens of Beaches within 30 minutes of "The Dorset Resort."
Please enquire in Main Office for further details. Beaches include:

Weymouth (30 mins) - Blue Flag Beach
Renowned for its clean, sandy beaches and some of the safest bathing in
the country. There are countless other attractions including a two mile
esplanade, attractive gardens, shops, restaurants and a pretty harbour.
You can rent pedal boats, deck chairs and play crazy golf.

Lulworth Cove (15 mins)
Probably one of the most popular and most photographed beaches in England.
Lulworth is a pebble beach with fantastic rock pools for crabbing and
a fresh water stream runs through the village and into the Cove. Sailing
boats moor in the Cove all year round and boat trips around the Bay are
also available.
Poole
Harbour (20 mins)
Poole Harbour is the second largest natural harbour in the world -
Sydney, Australia, being the largest. All types of boats and windsurfers
make the area a 'boaters' paradise. Sunseeker Yachts are based at
Poole and £5 million yachts are a common sight! Brownsea Island
is the largest of five islands in the harbour and is well worth a
visit. There is much to do in Poole with its quayside, sandy beaches,
picturesque gardens, restaurants, real ale pubs and much more besides. |

Studland
Beach (20 mins)
This beach stretches for over 3 miles - from South Haven Point to Old
Harry Rocks. The heathland behind this sandy beach is a national Nature
Reserve - a haven for many rare birds and other wildlife. There is a Shop
and Public Toilets on the beach and is an ideal area for walking, picnics
or just lazing in the sun. There are also fabulous views of Poole Harbour,
Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight. The chain link Ferry runs between Studland
and Sandbanks (Poole).

Sandbanks
(Poole) (25 mins)
This sandy beach is yet another 'family friendly' beach, slowly
and gradually sloping away, ensuring that it is safe for even the
smallest children.
There
are many activities for people of all ages from children's amusements,
crazy golf, windsurfing, sail and paddle boats. There is a 'swimmers
only' zone with 'on duty' Lifeguards to make this a very safe beach
for children and adults alike.

Swanage
(20 mins)
The beach at Swanage with its gently shelving sandy shore and clear blue
water has won the European Blue Flag Award on many occasions. There are
miles of glorious sandy beaches with so many things to do and see. The
Town of Swanage is only yards from some of the beaches. You can combine
shopping with sun bathing and sailing to enjoying a gourmet lunch. The
children will love the paddling and crabbing pools and the numerous other
attractions. This beautiful Victorian Town is a 'must' on your places
to visit.

Kimmeridge
(20 mins)
Kimmeridge Bay is renowned for its picturesque beach and its fossil
laden cliffs.
The
Bay is in the middle of the Jurassic Coastline of Dorset and is
at the end of a small valley on the southern coast of the Purbecks.
It
is a 'back to nature' area with rocks and crab pools. There are
Shops, Toilets and ample Parking in the village of Kimmeridge nearby.

Durdle
Door (25 mins)
Durdle Door with its massive rock arch, is a world famous geological wonder.
Set right in the Jurassic Coastline between Weymouth and Swanage, it is
absolutely beautiful. There is a stunning sloping beach which is perfect
for snorkling and swimming in the crystal clear waters and you can explore
its many coves and exciting rock strata. People come from all over the
world to visit this wonderful beach.
